Abstract

Early and rapid diagnosis of cancer is very important for the successful treatment and survival of the patients. Advance biosensors are emerging as an inexpensive and portable device for the detection of cancer biomarkers. It can be a promising alternative tool against the time-consuming conventional techniques. Biosensors are the device that is based on the detection of an analyte by converting the biological signal (DNA, RNA, protein) into an electrical or digital signal. The development of biosensors with the introduction of 2D materials holds a great opportunity as the next generation sensor. It possesses great flexibility with a wide range of applications. In this chapter, conventional techniques and advancement in the new generation biosensors for cancer diagnosis is discussed. Then, this chapter also highlights the types of biosensors and the potential of emerging nanomaterial that can be used as a reliable diagnostic tool for the detection of cancer.
